The Pool has sold out and horses assigned randomly. If your horse is a longshot, remember Golden Tempo was a 23 to 1 longshot in the Kentucky Derby and finished first.
Shanahan Family 2026 Belmont Stakes Pool Rules
The 2026 Belmont Stakes will take place on Saturday, June 6, with an approximate post time of 6:04 pm (CDT) p.m. Central and will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
The field has already been set and there are 9 horses in the race, so this pool will be limited to 9 players. First Come. First served.
The entry fee is $30. Please wait until I confirm that you made the pool before sending payment, since participation is limited to 9 entrants.

Once 9 people have entered the pool, my computer program will randomly assign a specific horse to each person. This time, post positions will not be used since we already know which horses are in the race. Everyone will be notified which horse they have before the race begins. If the horse you are assigned is scratched, the replacement will become your pick. If the scratched horse is not replaced, that will be considered a loss.
Prize Distribution
With 9 players, the total prize pool will be $ 270.00.
- 1st place horse: 60% of the pot ($162.00)
- 2nd place horse: 30% of the pot ($81.00)
- 3rd place horse: 10% of the pot ($27.00)
As Pool-God, I will settle any disputes, and my decision will be final. If you have questions about how the pool works, please ask before entering.
